Win 231 in a 100 of them and 10.3 gr. Unique in the other 100 using 240 gr. jacketed bullets. The Win. and Unique loads were too weak to cycle the gun. Light and heavy and old and new loads make the .44 Remington Magnum an exceedingly flexible handgun cartridge for plinking and hunting. I would use 2400, 20 grains under the 240s and 22 grains under the 200s. I had a Henry big boy for years and this is what it shot best. And if you want a plinkin load with lead for the mag cases, use 8 grains of unique under a 240 grain hardcast boolit.
