Duramax knocking at low rpm

Mar 27, 2015 · I'm looking at a 2005 150,000 Duramax. The oil pressure barely gets above the red line at idle. Maybe 2 bars above at 1500 RPM. No low oil light comes on and no alarms. I did some searching on the Internet and get some conflicting views. Some say the LLY engine has a LPHV pump and is normal. Opinions please. Engine knock occurs more easily at medium to higher rpm when you load the engine. It is usually caused by too lean a mixture or a fuel rated low in Octane or performance number. So if you cruise at a lean mixture and them decide to climb without adjusting the mixture, you might get detonation. Some customers may comment about a driveline vibration/growl noise at speeds between 56-80 km/h (35-50 mph) with low engine speeds. Cause Engine torsional vibration when the torque converter clutch is engaged at low engine speeds, 1100-1400 RPM, can excite various driveline components. Low RPM is when knock is most likely to occur. It's the danger zone. That is why you don't see many engine dyno pulls that start below 3,000 RPM.The pistons are moving much slower give detonation more time to occur.I've seen inaudible detonation break cranks over time.I've bent valves because of it.Of course that was a 10.75 to 1 cast iron engine ... Occasionally I get a low fuel pressure flash quickly as it stalls. I'm changing out the oil today, pretty sure that's not it but might as well rule it out. The code it is throwing is Idle air control/low rpm. Hope that helps. It is an inexpensive fix and easy to change out. Just disconnect the wire, and unscrew the sensor out and put a new one in and reconnect the wire. That should fix it. First make sure the wire is connected to it and it has a clean connection. If you start to hear any knocking in the engine, you gots a lot of issues inside. This first Duramax engine mated with GM trucks was coined the LB7 Duramax. While today, all Duramax trucks are paired with the Allison transmission, LB7 Duramax trucks also had an available ZF 6-speed manual transmission option. Producing 235-300 horsepower and 500-520 lb/ft of torque, the LB7 Duramax was a beast. Jun 28, 2010 · my neighbor just asked me to work on his 06 duramax with 40k miles, he says it blows black smoke when pulling hills and has low power, he says the check engine light is on so i will pull codes when he gets it to my garage, is this a common problem with an easy fix, a local diesel shop quoted him 4k for injectors which seems crazy to me because he said they trouble shot it over the counter, im ... Apr 23, 2020 · Just when midsize-truck enthusiasts were really becoming "one" with GM's 2.8L Duramax LWN I-4 engine, it appears the torquey turbodiesel may be going away, along with the optional 3.6L V-6 gas ... Looking for performance? Solid state hybrid drives make RPM largely irrelevant as a spec. Higher revolutions per minute represent a faster hard drive, but the rate of media transfer is just as important for data storage solutions. IBM gets the credit for inventing the concept of the hard disc drive (HDD)...There are (understandably) a lot of variables in getting good mileage. The LLY does its best mileage at 1880 rpm. The 3.42 rear end gets you at the right rpm at 65mph. If you have the 3.71 or 4.1 rear end you would have to drive much slower to be at 1880 rpm. Horsepower comes from high RPM. Diesel operators look for torque, which on a diesel comes at low RPM. If you do it too many times or too high RPM the rod bearings will spin causing the knock associated with bearing damage. Once you hear the knock the engine doesn't have long to live.Aug 21, 2015 · The question I have is once I get the bike started at low rpm there is a pretty loud knocking sound coming from engine. I just recently saw a youtube video of a guy with the same issue and he was asking the same question. Valves are all adjusted proper, exhaust is good. Knocking goes away when accelerated, but again returns at low rpm. Ross-Tech, LLC 881 Sumneytown Pike Lansdale PA 19446, USA Tel: +1 267 638 2300

Dec 22, 2019 · My rattle noise is definitely at low speeds though because it’s when I decelerate (just letting foot off the gas, not specifically braking) and usually around 1000-1500 RPM. The noise only happens when the car is idling at low RPM's. As soon as I rev the engine past 1000-1500 RPM's, the noise stops. Honestly, I don't know much about cars, so what should I listen for to tell if I do indeed have a rod knock? anything specific? And yea, I know about the exhaust leak.Jun 11, 2019 · Over the last month, I have been hearing a slight pinging sound from the engine that is usually hears at low speeds light throttle and low RPM to mid RPM (2000 - 5000). The metal gargling is usually heard when under a load. Every other vehicle I've ever had oil pressure stayed pretty steady around 60psi. This truck bounces between 45psi and just above 60psi seemingly dependent on how warm the truck is. I think I've seen it dip down close to 30 psi when the truck is warmed up and at low rpm cruising down the highway. P0327 Knock Sensor DTC Code Technical Description. Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Low Input (Bank 1 or Single Sensor) What does that mean? This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is a generic powertrain code, which means that it applies to OBD-II equipped vehicles. The knocking sound started almost a year ago, I believe. It has never been very loud until a couple months ago so I didn't pay much attention to it. When the engine is cold the noise stops and the engine smooths out at a lower RPM (around 1600). There is no smoke. The engine makes the same...Aug 21, 2015 · The question I have is once I get the bike started at low rpm there is a pretty loud knocking sound coming from engine.
