Honda gx620 fuel pump problems

My Honda gx-620 presented this problem after sitting idle for two weeks. I started sawing last week again and I smelled rich gas. The carburetor was dripping gas onto the engine case from underneath. Of course the engine was running rich except at 1/2 to full throttle.
